Unified Communications (Collaboration) Engineer
Location: Across Canada/Remote (Home Based) Position – we have physical offices in Calgary or Toronto if a hybrid schedule is preferred.
Role
As a Unified Communications Solutions Engineer, you love technology and want to work on designing, configuring, and installing complex networks that focus on voice, video conferencing and collaboration solutions. You are enthusiastic about IT with an appetite for learning and a knack for getting your hands on as much cool technology as you can.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with potential customers to define both end user and technical requirements.
- Designing, configuring, and installing complex networks.
- Communicating with internal team members and clients directly on projects.
- Creating and facilitating presentations to customers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Cisco Value Added Reseller (VAR) or consulting environments.
- Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Basic programming language knowledge is an asset.
- Cisco certifications are a plus (CCNA).
- Proficiency with Webex, Cloud calling provider integration is an asset.

Solutions Engineer
Location: Calgary/Hybrid Options
The Role: As a Solutions Engineer, you will be required to participate in discovery calls with our Account Executives, create and deliver presentations, demonstrate the features of Ignite’s portfolio, and create customized technology solutions for the client.
To ensure success, you should have an in-depth knowledge of software and hardware systems, a passion for creating technology solutions, and high-level communications skills. A suitable candidate drives sales by creating specialized technology solutions, tailor-made to the customer’s needs.
Primary responsibilities:
- Conducting client discovery calls with account executives
- Managing IT projects from inception to completion
- Meeting with clients to discuss their hardware and software needs
- Strategizing with the sales team and lead architects to create customized solutions
- Creating and delivering presentations
- Designing and installing customized technology solutions for the customer
- Testing the performance of the installed system and remediation of any shortfalls
- Developing relationships and maintaining customer relations
- Supporting the sales team with all technical related queries
- Developing an Ignite Technology Solutions Engineer program
Qualifications
- 5+ year experience as a technical lead, technical manager, technical designer, or equivalent
- 8+ years experience of Windows based operating systems (Server & Desktop)
- 8+ years experience of Microsoft 365 Administration
- 8+ years experience of Window Server applications (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Printer Systems, RDS, etc.)
- 8+ years experience in networking including wireless, wired, security, and basic design.
- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create big-picture technology solutions
